How to remove stains from clothes

One thought that never fails to haunt most of us is staining our favourite piece of clothing. Sometimes we become reckless and spoil our clothes with stains that become tough to handle and really hard to remove. Stains of oil, paint, grease, food, lipstick, blood are the toughest to deal with.

Kids being their naughty self also tend to play and get their clothes stained with mud which also could be tough to remove at times!

  • One thing that must be remembered for all kinds of stains is that the longer the cloth is stained and left unattended the more difficult it will get for you to remove it.   • Before you wash all the clothes together, the stained cloth must be treated to removal techniques so that it has already been dealt well before it goes for laundry with other clothes.   1. For immediate cleaning of an expensive piece of clothing, dab club soda on it using soft wipes.
  2. Baby powder comes as a handy solution for removing liquid or oily stains. Sprinkle some on the affected area. Wait till the powder gets absorbed completely. Now wash the cloth.
  3. Your precious white clothes can be saved from stains with fresh lemon juice! Yes, you read that right. Lemon is a great natural bleaching agent so it helps the white clothes retain their shine and whiteness. Squeeze some lemon juice on that stained white shirt and see the magic happen.
  4. White vinegar is a great stain remover as it absorbs all the stain and lets your clothes be stain free after one wash. Also if you want to retain the brightness and shine in your clothes you can pour about half a cup white vinegar into the washing section of your laundry machine. It also helps in removing armpit sweat stains and deodorant stains from your clothes.
  5. For the wax or wax like stains, applying heat to the stain is a great remedy. You'd ask how. The answer is simple. Put paper towels on the stain and iron it. This will make the waxy substance come out of your clothes.
  6. Nail polish remover and after-shaves also come as great help in removing stains from clothes. Pour some on baby wipes or cotton and dab on the stained portion of the cloth. This lessens the effect of the stain on the cloth, making it easy to remove while washing.
  7. Salt is a great cleaning agent on clothes when it comes to wine stains. Sprinkle salt on the stained part of the cloth and let it soak all of it. After your regular wash you will find the stain completely vanish.
